Plugable USB-C to DVI Adapter
Category: Video Adapter
Plugable's USB-C to DVI adapter allows you to connect a DVI display to your laptop, tablet, or desktop PC that supports the USB 3.1 "Alternate Mode" for video output. Currently, the MacBook Retina 12" (2016/2017), 2016/2017 MacBook Pros, Google Pixelbook, Dell XPS 13 & 15 (9350, 9360, 9550, 9560), Microsoft Surface Book 2, and Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ support this functionality.
Performance
USB-C Alternate Mode graphics functionality utilizes a direct connection to the system's graphics processor for optimal performance.
Compatible Systems
Plug-and-play on any Windows, Mac, or Linux host that supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode for video output.
The adapter has been tested for functionality on the 2017 iMac/iMac Pro, 2017 MacBook/MacBook Pro, MacBook Retina 12" (2016/2017), MacBook Pro (2016/2017), Microsoft Surface Book 2, Dell XPS 9350/9550, Lenovo P50, and others.
Apple Notes: To use a DVI monitor with MacBook systems, the monitor must support HDCP copy protection. Some older DVI monitors do not support HDCP and may exhibit issues that make them unusable. This requirement applies only to OS X, as Boot Camp Windows installations work correctly with DVI monitors that do not support HDCP.
