High-Speed NVMe Performance

The Plugable USBC-NVME M2 Enclosure is capable of raw read and write speeds up to 10Gbps, far exceeding the 6Gbps limit of SATA-based SSDs. Actual performance depends on your NVMe drive and host system. While NVMe SSDs can exceed 10Gbps internally, performance through USB is capped at 10Gbps.

When used with Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, or USB4 ports, the enclosure functions as a USB 10Gbps, operating at 10Gbps. Note: some USB 3.0 ports support only 5Gbps.

Tool-Free Design and Thermal Protection

With a tool-less installation process and adjustable SSD retention pin, this m.2 NVMe SSD enclosure supports 30mm, 42mm, 60mm, and 80mm M.2 NVMe drives. The rugged aluminum shell features low-profile cooling fins and includes thermal pads to help prevent performance drops due to thermal throttling during large file transfers - especially helpful with older or high-performance SSDs.

A removable USB cable makes it ideal for travel while helping reduce wear during repeated use.

Broad Compatibility with Modern Systems

Compatible with M.2 NVMe SSDs (2230, 2242, 2260, 2280)- SSD not included - supports PCIe Gen 3, Gen 4, and Gen 5 NVMe SSDs of any capacity. This M2 external enclosure supports connectivity with USB 3.0, USB-C, USB4, Thunderbolt 3, 4, and Thunderbolt 5 hosts.

Important: Not compatible with M.2 SATA, AHCI, or non-NVMe PCIe SSDs.

Universal Operating System Support

Works out of the box with Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS. No drivers required - this SSD enclosure m.2 NVMe leverages native USB Attached SCSI Protocol (UASP) support for modern operating systems. New SSDs must be partitioned and formatted before initial use.

Cables Included for Maximum Flexibility

With our NVMe USB-C enclosure, we include both USB Type-C to Type-C and USB Type-C to USB-A data cables. This allows full compatibility with a wide range of systems, from legacy desktops to modern ultrabooks and tablets.
